I believe I started using AG about ten years ago, and I have never noticed any such issues, although I have to confess it took a lot of reading (mostly here) to find out what should be blocked/allowed.
However, it's not the first time I hear they don't reply to emails. I guess their customer service is not as good as their product.

I think they are more geared towards business, not home users.
    Very sad, taken over.

They have always been geared towards business users. I've dealt with their support several times over the years and I've had no issues with it. However last time was probably 8 years ago or so.

It does not recognize my email address so I will have to contact them to create an account. There's no reason to do it at the moment though because I uninstalled AG in order to use SpyShelter. I have been making many suggestions for SpyShelter's upcoming major new release so I needed to stay familiar with SS.

I think maybe some of you misunderstand my problem with AppGuard. On my machine AppGuard fails to enable protection at startup even though the tray icon falsely reports that AG protection is enabled. This isn't a delay in protection; 24 hours later and AG still is not working even though the tray icon says protection is enabled.

Regarding saving or moving of your AppGuard settings, it can be done. You have to use the appguardpolicy.xml located in the "C:\Program Data\appguard llc\appguard" folder. I've used that in the past to move settings to the 2 other computers I have AppGuard Solo installed on. I move the policy file from above to both locations where you find it - C:\Program Files (x86) and C"\Program Data of the other computers. Of course you can just copy it to some other location and restore it later to the same computer if you want to uninstall/reinstall AppGuard.

I've had both experiences with AppGuard support. Quick help and none. I have not seen the problem you're experiencing on any of my 3 computers. Luckily for me it just works.

That is the same thing I do to back up my AppGuard settings, but it did not work after I reformatted my computer. I tried to restore my settings on a new install of AG on a freshly reformatted computer and it did not work.

I thought it was odd too. After it failed, I rolled my computer back and tried it again, and it failed again. It has worked most of the time, but I actually ran into this problem in past a few times over the years. I'm not sure why AG fails to restore it's settings sometimes and is successful other times. Well, I have to leave for work. I work night shift here in the US.

I tried requesting an account at the link, and this is the response I received:

    "Thanks for reaching out.
Our support team for Solo customers can be reached at support@appguard.us
We really appreciate your business, but unfortunately partner portal access is currently unavailable for Solo customers."

I replied that they should change the link that directs AppGuard Solo Customers to that portal. That was 5 days ago, and nothing has changed.:(

Yes, they definitely should not be directing Solo Customers to the portal link if that's not for them. They are sending consumer customers there and then telling them it's not for them. I will try emailing support again at support@appguard.us and see if I get a reply. I will relist the bugs that I have reported and also some functionality that should have been added over 10 years ago.
