    no reason to go to steganos,

    you get less of kaspersky, for more or similar amount of money right?

    plus you will get worse support with steganos, stick to the original product is my opinion.

    not at all, no offence taken...

    f-secure replys to emails in about the same time as kaspersky, f-secure has deepguard and a better firewall in my opinion, and f-secure is cheaper, alot cheaper if you have more than one machine, i just prefer the overall package when compared.

    depends what one prefers.

    Been testing OA since the start. My avatar changes more then my software. Avira is a good product but to me is missing key components to be considered a suite. Eset should be before to long. Heck OA with Kasperskys AV is just about a suite. And Dr. Web for a laptop just cant honestly be beat.

    I've been flitting from one to the other recently. I like F-Secure the best, but the 2006 version didn't work well on my machine, so I installed KIS, which I also think is excellent, but although the iSwift and iChecker technology is great, definitely reduces scanning times, and boot up time is very quick, the Pro-Active Defence pop ups are frequent and annoying, and this is the one thing that makes KIS just ever so slightly imperfect. I tried Norton IS 2007 the other day, and it had an extremely compromising effect on boot up times, which I couldn't tolerate, so that had to go. I am now trying FSIS 2007 for a second time, and although boot up time is slightly slower than with KIS, I find that navigating round Windows, and web browsing is slightly quicker, and it also seems to allow my internet connection to be faster, for some reason, especially noticeable when downloading torrents. I did have a problem with the Full System Scan, in that it would freeze after about 15 minutes. I contracted FS Support, and they sent me a newer version (fs2007sp1), but it's still the same, however, I have since found that the problem is only evident with the spyware scan, and is probably due to a conflict somewhere, so I just use the rootkit and hard drive scans, and stick to SuperAntiSpyware for my spyware scans.

    All in all, my personal favourite is FSIS, closely followed by KIS.

    One of these days, I'd love to see someone ask: "What security suite (or firewall, or AV, or AS, etc.) is the best that you don't use?"

    Should at least temper a few fanboy responses.

    Mine has now also changed. I couldn't get anywhere with F-Secure, which wouldn't scan properly even on a clean installation of Windows. I thought I could live with it, by using an alternative spyware scanner, but I found I was spending more time than was healthy, trying to get it to work. Support was quite fast, but they couldn't come up with a solution, and merely kept suggesting reinstalls and removal of other programs. F-Secure is great when it works, but there seems to be too many reasons for it not to work, so therefore, I can't recommend it any more.

    I am now using KIS, which is still annoying, but works well and is fast, and would be interested to try the NOD32 suite when it comes along.

    Of course if you ask to them, they obviously say "may be" or "let's see"... they have no specific interest in saying "YES"...:D :D

    If the heuristic update will be "signature" based, KAV OEM will get the new signature updates... of course, if changes are also required to the level of the engine than it could take a bit longer for KAV SDK users to update their packages (i.e. it requires the release of a new build package)

    The end result is that "signature based" detection should be the same for KAV and SDK KAV... as it is now... another story is with HIPS and other functions where, for example, KAV has the proprietary PDM and ZASS has the OSfirewall.

    Hi there OP Sjoeii;

    Your posts are starting to look like Matousec's bug listing, only with positive comments. My index finger starting to ache from rolling a mouse wheel :D

    Cheers.
