    MV2 from http://mv2.czweb.org/

Loads fast, uses low resources and as long as you have all the necessary codecs loaded will play any and all format and with color and size control. It is truly full featured.

I do not watch any video so I use FOOBAR 2000 for music and mp3 streams. Very low resource usage, but it ain't pretty.

    JetAudio gets my vote

Performs very well, memory usage around 11,500k and it supports all formats, even though installation takes 43+mb (I think this includes the real codecs).

I use winamp I was using wmp for while but i had a few mp3's that it couldnt play because they were apparently corrupt so i downloaded the new winamp and they play fine no probs at all. I had been using winamp a while back on my old pc because it came already installed by packard bell. It was something like version 3 and didnt play wma. The new one plays everything though. I have noticed though that when you turn its visualisations on they seem to use more resources then wmp ones. The winamp ones do look better though. The one problem i have with it is the souncd, the sound quality is good but theres a severe lack of bass on anyrhing. Back when i was using version three there was very little bass in any songs, i installed it on friends pc's and it was the same on theres. On this new one i get the same sound, no bass, im using philips speakers on it. I have messed around with its equalizer on both version and all the pc's i installed it on and it didnt work, i have fiddled with the sound software that for my sound card on hre and no luck either. So apart from that is good plays all the formats i need it to. I havent really used it for video iv played a couple of ones that came on cd's through it. The only thing i dont use it for is playing cd's, but i very rarly do that I usualy just rip them to pc using wmp. I suppose if you have really expensive speakers on your pc like BOSE ones or something the sound will be much better.

  24. Hi guys...
Gee! Jetaudio seems to get so many of your votes and I didn't even know it!
I was still on WMP, Winamp is fine but no video on it, otherwise I tried BSPlayer too.
I'll try Jetaudio as soon as I can. Freeware, too!

    Great... Thanks!
