Best free defrag tool - IYHO

    Auslogics defrag works for me. Simple, fast, optimizing and most important - free :) .

    i think Puran is the only free defrag that offers boot-time defrag for system files.

    best free defrag, imo

    I have yet to see that defrag makes any measurable difference on 99% of disks (i.e. those which are not worst case fragmented). In any case Windows automatically runs it in background.

    I would really like to see some data on this which is independent, because I've played with nearly all the defraggers and never noticed anything.

    if you're happy with the Windows defragger then there really is no reason to change.

    it does a oretty good job, AFAICT.

    Since changing my boot drive to an SSD, I just use the portable version of Defraggler for data drives when necessary.
