    Hello,
i tryed to make a bartpe cd using my windows XP SP2 oem cd as the sourse files.
i have got the log file and can upload it if anyone wants to read it.
but when it makes the cd it cant find 42 files and reports errors.
is this due to the oem cd not having the files?
this means the cd cannot load.
should i try and borrow a xp sp2 cd to make the bartpe cd?
maybe i can get paragon to create the cd for me.

Is the OEM CD a genuine MS Windows Xp SP2 cd. My XP Pro is an OEM version by definition, and so there is the CD. Built Bartpe disk just fine.

One other thing, lodore, I am assuming you put the plugin into your bartpe file, but did you add the paragon files?

lodore~ I probably missed your rationale for wanting (or needing) to do this ...doesn't the Paragon HDM Boot CD recognize all of your drives, or what? ~pv

    lodore,

If this is because the recovery disk you built will not see your external drive, try this, it worked for me. I booted with the recovery disk (not the winpe) then I plugged in my external drive, sadly it was not found by Paragon. Then I unpluged it and plugged it into a different usb port and it was there. I am not sure why this worked, but it did.

    Hope it works for you,

P.S. I too am waiting for my WINPE disk, they seem to have a problem. When I wrote and ask about it they said they were contacting Element5 and that if I have not heard from them in 48 hours (Monday) then to check back. I would say their software is great, but their mailing system leaves somewhat to be desired.

the linux based recovery cd doesnt se my maxtor one touch III external 100gb usb drive. this was the cd i made using the unpack and burn wizard.
i might try sticking it in another usb port to see if that makes any difference.
if not i will wait for a reply from paragon since i asked them if they could add support for my drive to the linux based recovery cd.

    Hello Peter2150,
first off my pc was made by a company called carrera pc's who was owned by digital network.
so its a digital network recovery cd. aka OEM windows xp home SP2 cd.
i extraced the zip file with all the files and read the html file.
i added all the file it told me to which where all the ones in the paragon harddisc manger 8.5 folder.
and about 4 other files from sytem32 folder e.g. hotcore3.sys etc.
i have attached the log file.
hopefully someone can look through it and see what files are missing.
i think i will google some of the file names.
it seems from a quick google search that some of the files are needed for a 3ware plugin.
so i will see if i can disble the 3ware plugin.
but there are alot of missing files.
so it will take a while to wadd through them
