I checked out their FAQs and now they are saying Baidu is indeed compatible with another antivirus program. Still not sure how good of an idea that is, but I'm tempted to try it.
I usually using their Chinese Version. Because I find out that some of their English Version differs from Chinese. Chinese Version sounds better. And, it did says, compatible with others AVs. But is it necessary to install more than 1 AV? It really slow down the computer. And, Chinese security software always got block by MBAM Website Blocking. Especially during AV engines signature update or using certain function of the software. They will say "this xxxx IP address is being block by malicious website visit" some sort.
I see. Just because 360AV is already on use, and my Tencent QQ Manager works as AV & Anti-Malwares... that's why I using Baidu awhile and uninstall. And the funny things is China Security softwares did really fight against each other. Even it says compatible, but once use start using them together, they did bite each other.
omg.. Installed Baidu 2014 using the offline installer.. couldn't stand that because of those annoying bugs.. oh man baidu got some serious problems with scanning. then installed the baidu v4.4 beta ; although it looked fine at first, I got several BSODs so I had to uninstall baidu. I think it'd be better if mods do us a favor and change the tittle of this topic to 2013-2014 Regards, Amin
- maybe I'll give it another try on my laptop\win 8.1 soon, since I tested it on my pc\xp sp3 I'm not sure if baidu itself was the main problem. - nope roger. I certainly didn't have any other suit installed when I got dumb enough to install baidu (kiddin) Regards, Amin
Baidu AV Why are more people not using this? I just switched over to it because 360 was slowing my laptop down with Comodo and im really impressed so far with the speed and the detection rates and havent ran into a bug yet.
Re: Baidu AV but I'm quite happy with 360 IS. with all those active guards and also having real-time protection switched ON on all the three engines, it's still working fine and flawlessly on win 8.1 pro 32bit. I'm impressed by its performance. seriously, this time I'm sure I'm gonna keep an AV for a long period of time. P.S : you've got to update your sig mate. Regards, Amin
Re: Baidu AV Well, i woukd change my sig but im not quite set on baidu yet. As of now the avira update and everythings working but if something goes south im switching to panda cloud prpbably
Combofix is not compatible with Baidu, as it detected Baidu modules even after a baidu exit (disabled Baidu). How to disable completely Baidu Antivirus, please ?? I already tried to disable trough windows Services but it can't. I also tried with a killer process but still impossible to disable or to terminate the process and/or the services. How is the way to do it ??
I'm not talking about uninstallation but about how to disable the modules and process to run properly Combofix. Who knows ?
I ran Baidu for a bit more than 1 week on my aged decrepit computer running XP, & Baidu was excellent. However I switched to AdAware AV because I decided I want an on-demand AV only. {Yes, I'm still running XP & shall continue doing so in full recognition that I am doomed. Eeek! It's Y2K all over again! Yes, for we fools who stay with XP, this is undoubtedly the final finality. We who are about to die salute you.}
It may be light but detection levels need to improve, particularly when compared to Qihoo and other free AVs; http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart2&year=2014&month=3&sort=0&zoom=3 http://www.av-test.org/en/tests/home-user/producer/baidu/
