    Any suggestion for any compatible firewall to run with baidu av on win 7 64bit?

    Gotta say I'm surprised that people are willing to use this AV after Kingsoft abandoned KAV 2012 without so much as a screw you. For me, trust is equally important as detection, RAM usage and UI design.............. Just find it curious is all.

    I don't find it a big deal to switch if that time comes. Plus, don't you think Kingsoft "abandoned" their AV because it was morphing to this?

    HMMMMM.... Let's suppose, they stop the development of Baidu in a few months .... Is not that possible ? How many KingSoft Antivirus have we seen so far ?

    I would have thought from a marketing point of view that they would have stuck with the brand kingsoft.

    Baidu is not that common.

    I believe Baidu is one of the largest, fastest growing Chinese companies, much larger than Kingsoft.

    How many forum users look at NASDAQ.?

    Im speaking of average home users who merely browse forums like this.

    How often has Baidu actually been mentioned on this very forum in contrast to kingsoft.

    Some people read the news outside of AV forums. I heard of Baidu before ever hearing of Kingsoft. If Baidu wants an AV, why would they want to offer it under a different name. Does nothing for their brand awareness.

    Baidu is like Google for Asia. They started as a search engine too. I guess they've accumulated a large marketshare that allows for them to invest great financial and technological resources on development. Just look at their engine. What other AV have we seen that uses Kaspersky? I think it had to cost a big buck.

    Ok...I decided to give this av a try.Well when i double clicked on the installer i get a message saying that my version of windows is not supported.
    I have Vista 32 bit,& on the Baidu Antivirus website it lists Vista as a supported os.
    Has anybody else that has Vista experience this?
    This is the second time this happened to me(i wanted to try the Kingsoft Cheetah Browser & same result).

    An easy way around is to right click the installer and choose windows xp mode in the compatibility tab.

    Firstly, Kingsoft was not abandoned - as far as I know there are still definition updates.

    Secondly it does not matter to me, and I'm sure that is the case for most people that use it. If development stops (which I don't think will happen), I'll switch to a different AV. It takes minutes to uninstall and AV and then install a new one, so really it's not an issue.

    Just in case, "selina1" which is part of dev team of KingSoft came on the forum not long ago ... KAV 2012 was released as a first beta on June 2012.

    The program may not be abandoned but the Forum sure has. There is about 1000 pages of Spam on the Comments and Suggestions board in less than of month.

    Further Kingsoft English development is dead. Yes, they still have definition updates that are pushed out, but that doesn't make development dead.

    Updater is working fine since v3.2.1.27892 release.

    Agreed. Seems to update every 4 hours.

    it alert for driver loading, it protect some reg key.
    i dont remember any other alert.

    Btw, I am using Win8x64, other systems can different
