    So Kingsoft AV, Baidu are likely to sink into oblivion?

    I highly doubt it. Sure development seems to have stopped on Kingsoft, but maybe they are concentrating on the Chinese version for now. In any case, Baidu are regularly updating their antivirus, and have also just release a new program Game Booster.

    I really like their products, and install PC Faster on just about every computer I work on.

    I've heard that Kingsoft signature database for the English version is linked to the Chinese version of Kingsoft that is not abandoned.
    It means, that signatures will be updated but not the English antivirus version.

    No, I haven't used Avira for many years - just on its own from here: http://security.baidu.co.th/en/

    It says, PC Faster Version: 3.2.0.9 Beta
    I thought PC Faster has been around for many months.

    P.S. I decided to try a "science experiment" right now - to run PC Faster (with Avira and Baidu engines, plus Cloud protection) and BitDefender Free Antivirus.

    Wish I could install the Chinese version of Kingsoft but I can't even guess at how to configure it. Too bad.

    Newest version fixed the update issue. It's been updating about every 4 hours. Both Baidu and avira defs. Running well with WSA and sandboxie.

    Crazy how difficult they make it to download this thing. Download is slow as can be, and keeps ending before the file in complete. Anyone know if there is a mirror in North America?

    I think both these ultimately link back to Baudi super slow main download link.

    Between the update issues, and download issues, I think I may have a hard time trusting this software.

    I have been using this product for a few days on several computers. I am extremely impressed with it. Updates have been flawless, what malware I tried with it have been nuked, but it is so light. Honestly I am finding it to be as light as WSA on my computers.

    This, for now, is a great product and if they will just continue development in a positive direction, who knows what they can achieve with BA2013.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

    Finally able to grab it this morning, but still a bit slow. 5min for a 13meg file on a 30/mb cable connection.

    I noticed even with Avira disabled, it still seems to update its files.

    Can anyone explain the difference between Protection Mode (fast, standard, strict) vs Engine option (low, normal, high). Reading the descriptions, the two settings(protection mode & engine option) seem similar.

    Hi:

    How is its compatibility with shadow defender, comodo browser sandbox/ VR and also sandboxie now? Are they working fine with baidu antivirus? Any incompatibility and issues with 64bit win 7o_O

    I want to retry it but after having incompatibility and issues wit it last time (blocked sandboxie from running or stopping any type of sandboxed browser from running and shadow defender restart issue).

    Your comment is welcomed. By the way I would like to know these on a win 7 64bit

    If I remember correctly, first we heard the news from some computer users about Baidu AV using Signatures, similar to Kaspersky's.
    Later, we heard some news from the media that Kaspersky's experts helped Baidu to refine it's English version - with Avira's engine - AV.
    Right now, we have an article about the Baidu Kaspersky using Kaspersky AV Engine and proudly displaying Kaspersky's Logo with Baidu AV.

    Baidu AV gives me more popups for safe functions that Comodo. Is there a way to lessen the sensitivity of the HIPs?

    What settings do you have ? As I get very few pop ups at all, I have file system protection on standard.
