Bad Experience

    WOW! I just completed two days of he11 trying to get SS4 to work. I never was able to complete a full scan. I am no geek for sure but I did everything per KB SOLN2147 and others to no avail. I couldn't send log files because the machine would lock-up and I couldn't perform the last steps. At one point (or 2 maybe 3) it was totally locked and I had to use the power button to exit the computer (something I don't like to do).

    Anyway, things are good now. I flushed ESET (it took 3 tries) and installed Norton Internet Security in about 3-5 minutes. I was disappointed in not being able to try ESET.

    Hello bobcat8,

    Sometimes issues like you described can be caused by a previous antivirus product. Many times when you uninstall a product, it leaves behind services and drivers that can conflict with the ESET software, causing the machine to run slow or even lock-up. Many antivirus companies provide removal tools for thier software just for situations where this may happen.
