    I'm trying to hot-backup a Windows 2003 Domain Controller.
After restoring the disk images the DC only starts in Directory Services Restore Mode and is missing one of the last edb* logs. :(

Does Acronis True Image Server 8.0 support Windows 2003 Domain Controllers?
Which steps I have to proceed before starting the hot-backup? I suppose, that Acronis did not took the "System State" - do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you
    MaWeX

    Hello MaWeX,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image Server (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATISWin/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

It seems that the log was created after you started image creation. I can suggest that you copy it manually to your new machine.

    Thank you.

Only sector-based point-in-time partition snapshot image isnt enough to
backup ActiveDirectory - this is impossible without "system state" save.
Seems that TI not jet implemented system-state save, maybe in future.
ActiveDirectory, domaincontrollers, nameservers all work based on information
replication with other machines. Roaming-profile conflict etc.
Also many policyes are time-sensitive and
cant work correctly after restoration from backup when there is time conflict
with actual time and time when system was backed up. This all requires special system-state preparation after restored system boots up.
