I found the problem i needed to browse on the "backup locations" I created when i am browsing where the backup folder is. If you browse to the location of your backup folder the "Normal" way the task will run but it will ignore any rules you have made for your backup location. backup location.jpg

    Hello doh!,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please notice that this is the intended behaviour of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home. When you manually navigate to the folder you want to create a backup at, Acronis Backup Location feature is not active. You can learn more how to use Acronis True Image 10.0 Home from the respective User's Guide.

    Thank you.

I understand the intended behavior but it confused a lot of us the first time. Maybe the tree should list the backup location (Backup Locations -- Managed Backup Limits Observed) and the rest of the tree be headed with a notation like (No Managed Backup Limits Observed here) or something like that to help folks avoid this confusion in the future. You can say we, the once and future confused, just weren't paying enough attention but there are too many folks with this confusion. If a failure to understand directions is common enough to deserve a sticky, the directions deserve a rewrite. If too many read the book wrong; it's time to fix the book ;-)
