    Dear folks,

I've run into a problem while trying out Acronis True Image that I hope you can help with. I'm running file version 8.0.0.826 (trial) on an Athlon 1900 + system with 1.5 GB of RAM, running Windows 2000 Professional Workstation Service Pack 4. Win2K system partition is F:\ on primary IDE master drive. Applications are stored in partition G:\ on same drive (I.e., folder containing ATI is G:\Acronis\TrueImage . Backups are directed to partition M:\ on secondary IDE master drive.

Sometimes when I attempt to create a disk image (either a full backup or incremental backup) after I press the "proceed" button, instead of getting the backup progress window I instantaneously get the " green" information window that reports " The image was successfully created!"

This occurs when I know that there are new or changed files to be backed up

When I click through the information window, only then does the " Commit Pending Operations" window open up. Unfortunately, nothing happens! The software is idle and will not perform any back up. I can close that window and I can cancel the task from the pending task list, but this still leaves the software in a confused state. If I attempt to do any further image backups, the software reports that is waiting for the first task to complete. The only way to get True Image to work again is to restart my machine.

The images I get are flawless when the software works ... but this fails about one out of 3-4 times, so it is making it impossible to schedule automated backups, especially since I have several drives and partitions to back up separately. The automated tasks run just fine until they hit one of these erroneous operations, and then all the other automated tasks just hang waiting for the broken task to finish.

Have you got any idea what might be going on? Thanks for your help!
