Is there any reason why imaging to a NAS (gigabit LAN) affects the PC's performance more than backing up to a local drive (usb or eSata)?

Tried Drive Snapshot and Macrium and I can hardly tell they're running when backing up to a local drive and yet I get a jerky cursor and windows when backing up to the NAS. Macrium is especially bad.

I appreciate that the NAS backup will be slower but I can live with that - it's just that it makes using the computer at the same time almost impossible.

Just wondered if this was par for the course or something specific to my system.

    Thanks

Might actually be just the opposite - rollbacked the drivers to an older version and it seems to be better. Still testing... :)

What is spec of PC. List components/motherboard.

    And NIC OEM?

Check motherboard BIOS for update! Also check settings
