    Hi.

In NOD32 version 3 there is always a scan going on in the background.

It seems that after a reboot it starts again from square 1.

I would rather scan manually or setup a schedule for once a week but can't figure out how to do it.

Please give me some detailed advise how to set it up that NOD32 wont scan my PC all the time.

Thanks in advance for any feedback,

Neither V2 nor V3 scans the whole disk(s) automatically. In order to achieve this, you must schedule a scan task and select the drives to scan. While scheduling a task, you can define how frequently the scan will be run.

    .......thanks for the quick reply.

Anyway, there is a scan going on in the background all the time.

Is there a way to configure that scan?

It is running on my machine now for 14 hours and if I shutdown now it will start again tomorrow.

Is it really necessary that this scan is going on in the background all the time?

    Thanks again.......

Do you see a scan task in Scheduler? Could you post a screenshot of your scheduled tasks here?

    .......thanks again for your reply.

    Here are 2 screenshots:

1 of the Scheduler and 1 of the background scan that is going on all the time:

I haven't scheduled any scan as yet because there is always this scan in the background going on which I would like to stop or at least configure that it will not run all the time while the system is up.

In fact I prefer to run a complete system scan manually anyway.

    Thanks again.......

You don't have any background scan scheduled. Background scans create on-demand scanner logs, but you're actually referring to real-time protection statistics.

.......sorry, but that's what I meant.

"Real-Time Protection" is scanning "Objects" "Files" and "Sectors" all the time.

Isn't that mean that there is a scan of my files going on in the background all the time?

Is there a way to configure that "Real-Time Protection" scan..o_O..

It's the purpose of real-time protection to scan files that are created, modified or accessed by an application or the operating system. It employs an intelligent system so that files are scanned only once unless they have been modified or an update occurred.
