Guys, have you encountered the problem I have: I run avira free +private FW and seemingly avira doesn't recognize it - it shows like a problem that windows firewall is closed and offers to fix it by enabling windows fw.
Run the "Modify" installation and remove (untick) the "Windows Firewall" component. http://www.avira.com/en/support-for-home-knowledgebase-detail/kbid/1559 Re your signature: fyi: I have Avira Suite & MBAE Free (reatime) & HitmanPro/MBAM Pro (on demand only) => no problems.
Hi, we have a new beta (wfp)-driver available which we send out to selected testers. In case you already contacted us via the bug report form you will receive an Email with instructions. Kind regards, Toni
About the bootup delay regarding the network connection and delayed start of Avira systray icon: This is an open topic and still in analysis. Did you all who are affected sent us an report file from the Avira Support Collector? This will help a lot to reproduce and solve this issue!
This sounds strange. Are there any interesting errors reported within the Windows eventlog? Did you have the chance to report the issue in the Avira beta forum?
I have installed avira free and it says that the pc is unsafe, if I click fix the problem it launches and update but when is done the message is still the same. The last update date is 17/6/2014 (today) and appears in bold and red as if it where an old update. Somebody knows how to fix this?
Compare your VDF version: (How to) http://www.avira.com/en/support-for-home-knowledgebase-detail/kbid/990 and latest VDF: http://www.avira.com/en/support-vdf-history and post back what dvf version do you have actually.
I have the latest one 7.11.155.64 I'm going to re install to see if it's fixed. EDIT: After re-install it works.
Yes, I did that, thanks Lets see how Avira performs now, I was using PCAV but due to the last AVC performance report I'm going to use avira for a while. I have now MBAE, WFC and Avira, It looks a solid and light setup...
Try now (the 642 installer was 130MB, now the link says 138MB) = http://install.avira-update.com/package/wks_avira13/win32/en/pecl/avira_free_antivirus_en.exe
If you want a clean install, first use avira registry cleaner from their website http://www.avira.com/en/download/product/avira-registrycleaner to delete all previous Registry keys from old avira installations.
man i cant even work with the beta installed now. i have 4 hard lock ups in a row, first the system becomes non responsive and when i try ctrl alt del then it just locks nothing works. tried this also on a different laptop with only windows and office installed. i tried to get a log to send but twice now it locks while doing so.
Have you tried disabling web protection to see if things improve? I can't browse with web protection on.
yes its fine without web protection im finding. so something from when they fixed the blank page issue must have introduced a new issue im guessing
For "clean" install, is not enough the use of Avira Registry Cleaner only: http://www.avira.com/en/support-for-home-knowledgebase-detail/kbid/902
many people over at the beta forum are reporting the same freezing issue. i am gathering logs now to send in.
Not so many people over at the beta forum are reporting the same freezing issue............ Web Protection 14.0.5.402 causing white pages to load (7 users / 24 Replies)
Good question Garrett76.I wonder if anyone has got a screenshot of Avira protection cloud in action or maybe a link to a video? Thank you in advance.
Toni the random freezing is caused by avira? because I have face thi s issues when I open my opera browser with many tabs together
You have to enable the option: "Confirm manually when sending suspicious files to Avira" first. The following screenshot is from Avira Suite. http://i1-win.softpedia-static.com/screenshots/Avira-AntiVir-Premium_20.png I don't know if the above mentioned option exists in Avira Free.
As far as we know up until now it's caused by our wfp driver so it should be browser independent. Please keep in mind that this only applies for the current BETA version!
