No issues at all, at least on my rig. I'm using the latest beta v14.0.5.402 with Windows 8.1 Pro 32-bit.
I just installed Avira IS on one pc and I have two quick questions: 1) How often does IS update it's detection files by default? 2) How can I specify how often/when I want IS to update itself?
Same here (Windows 8.1U 32-bit and IE 11 & Avira Antivirus Suite stable v.14.0.4.642). Same story, once again! = https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/page-77#post-2377729 > https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/page-77#post-2377766 > https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/page-77#post-2377762 > https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/page-77#post-2377916

1) Default value = Every 2 hrs. 2) UI > Extras > Configuration. Or right click on taskbar icon > from drop-down menu => Configure Avira Antivirus Suite. Configuration > PC Protection => Update http://i1-win.softpedia-static.com/screenshots/Avira-AntiVir-Premium_15.png ---------------------------------- For additional update jobs, please read here= https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira-2013.332564/page-2#post-2121150 .
Hi zfactor, I tried v.14.0.4.642 on a virtual machine running Win 8/32bit and loaded http://jonnyguru.com in IE & Chrome just fine. Kindly send me a list with the website(s) that do not load on your end together with a report after you run http://www.avira.com/en/download/product/avira-antivir-support-collector. The team will have a look in there and I'll get back to you right after I got an answer. Best, Andrei
The build 14.0.5.x which is currently in beta will be the version without toolbar officially available soon.
How many of your computers are affected? Do you like to send us the report file from our support collector to get an insight about the system scenario and for the troubleshooting?
will do but what about win 7 x64 that is my main os still and MANY MANY pages do not load on it, i am having to turn off web protection a number of times during the day
Thanks to the great feedback from the beta community we could now identify this issue of the Update 5 BETA also in our labs. We are working on a fix that will be released to beta soon.
Dont blame my machine, its 100% avira webshield! lots of beta users have the same problem with blank pages and some others also mention webprotection turning off without any reason..... PS: when Avira IS 14.0.4.642 installed i have no problem with blank pages, only with the beta 14.0.5.402 Regards Also Thx Matthias and cmhelper for your effort fixing Webprotection issue
so awesome to hear!!! right now the web shield is my only real issue. i hope the network connection can be sped up when first connecting but its workable and boots fast.
Well I wish you guys fix the web protection and WFP driver issues before release to public... these two problem made a quite annoying for me I need to always manual restart the services... I don't care about the release ASAP but we need a more stable build before it going be release it otherwise we need to face and answer lots of the issues in avira forum or avira answer or other forum as well
Unless I'm misunderstanding what you said, you should not have had a lifetime code that was revoked. If this happened, please let me know.
I said "may" because I'm on Win8.1 32-bit (you are on Win7 64-bit) and I haven't had any of the issues that you and others experienced with the latest builds. As you can read from the Matthias post above yours, they have now identified the issue reported from some people. You were "a bit" late replying me.
It is soooo nice to see Avira revert back to what made them sucessful. They by far, stand heads above the others. They were a tad bit pig headed for a couple of years with their sucess, but it now appears that the Avira train is back on track. They really are some very talented people.
I've been using Avira free for a few days now, The only problem I have is that I can't use it with Google Chrome or other Chrome based browsers due to the fact that if a malicious file is downloaded through a chrome based browser Avira will detect the file, but it won't remove it. It will go through its whole scanning the system thing but when it comes time to remove the file it will leave it where it is and then detect it all over again creating literally a never ending loop.... I have been in contact with Stefan from Avira and sent numerous Avira support collector logs and we couldn't figure out the problem leading to me ditching Avira because it wouldn't work with Chrome. Well now I'm back with Avira and I would like to share my problem with you guy's in hope that someone would know why my installation has a problem with chrome browsers, It's quite infuriating.
