Conflicts between MBAM and other AVs have been reported frequently. It's never a good idea to run multiple AV solutions in parallel, but still, vendors should do their best to overcome conflicts that affect users' systems. I can tell you that this point is taken seriously in Avira's dev teams. I am wondering, if Avira managed to start all services and MBAM didn't, why did you choose uninstall Avira?
The MBAM tutorial is in Avira Forum= https://forum.avira.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=86035 and mods still they recommend the use of MBAM (even if it's on demand scan only) i.e. : https://forum.avira.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&postID=1291520#post1291520 Because he wants to keep MBAM running.
Make an exclusion for each other.. Also delay the startup to 15 seconds in MBAM.. I run the combo and its great..
Good advice KaptainBug, I recall some fellows recommending exactly this set up (combo + delayed start for MBAM services) on Avira Answers. Cheers!
Yes I've noticed that too when I've re-installed Avira some time ago. With custom installation, one has to carefully read the installer windows not to be tricked into installing Ask. I can understand if it is Avira free, but with the paid version, Avira should avoid these sneaky methods.
New fixes and changes in Update 5 .. Do not offer the toolbar anymore in all products: From now on, all products will be delivered without the SearchFree toolbar. ..
its the beta i believe and going forward (unless i misunderstood, the person who told me that was directly from avira) will not have ask. if i am wrong hopefully someone from avira will chime in and correct this.
no more boot up to desktop delay but it does delay the network connection a lot. takes a bit before the wireless or lan connects and you can actually go online.
Good Morning! It still takes over a minute to connect to my network! The amount of time Avira has spent and taken to fix this problem...is totally unacceptable...I have gone to a competitor whose product gives me instantaneous startup and connectivity. Too Bad so Sad! Sincerely...Securon
I have been running the beta for a while now and really like it. One problem that I am having is with web protection. At times it turns itself off and I will turn it back on, then off it goes again. It feels like it slows the browser down a bit. Other than this, I really like the direction Avira has taken and if the final version runs good it will be in my top 3.
has zero to do with my system tested on over 15 DIFFERENT systems with different os' 100% a avira web shield issue
