From the changes they are making, it seems like Avira is back on tracks.

I’d say... Detection is great again, very light on resources (single engine), reasonably low FPs, and last but not least one license key for all computers (thanks anon for the information)... An excellent deal.

It si only too bad that you have too uninstall Malwarebytes when you want too install Avira 2014. They should work togheter.

I have 2 licenses for MBAM but I still use it on demand, and if it is installed after Avira there shouldn't be any problems as long as MBAM is on demand.

    Doesn't matter if it's installed before/after.

I have also Avira Antivirus Suite & MBAM free (on demand) & HitmanPro free (on demand).
    No problems.

    ------------------------
Avira is using Opswat’s AppRemover to detect and automatically uninstall 3rd party security software.

I think it is more a recommendation to avoid a potential conflict, I'm not sure but the installation can continue if one clicks next. In any case uninstalling MBAM and re-install it later is not the end of the world really.

you only get the toolbar if you allow it now. just watch during install and make sure to decline.

    Try this:

Open Avira Control Center, click "Extras" , then go to "Configuration" :

    1) Go to "PC Protection > "System Scanner" = Leave the options "Integrity checking of system files" & "Follow symbolic links" disabled.
    2) Go to "General" > "Security" = "System protection" and uncheck the option "Advanced process protection" >
    3) Click "Apply & OK"
    4) Restart your computer.

You can check rootkits on Avira:

    Option A:
    Option B:

I ve installed the latest Free version (14.0.2.286) on some friend's computer.
The first notification (avira installed successfully) and the update notification is gone....
    Is it eliminated by default?

    Is this the option?
