    Ha, ha, that is funny. :argh: So Avira is detecting its own Ask Toolbar as malware?

    Maybe they forgot to remove detection of Ask Toolbar, maybe you need to download Uniblue RegistryBooster and see if Avira detects it as it once use to.

    Thanks for the link IBrad. I'm not to sure wether to believe those avira mods, I've always trusted avira and it's served me well, but... I think it may be time to switch!

    Now, if the various collections wouldn't be full of this patched executables, I wouldn't need to do the .Gen for such things.

    So the detection here is not intended, but sure its... amusing...

    Interesting, he should just add deny rules under the properties > security tab instead of trying to go against Avira's self-protection.
    If he still wants to delete it, do it from safe mode, boot cd, or another computer.
