    avira already detected rootkits, hmm.

antispam, another company adding it, seems to be the new craze. :)

I just installed it about an hour ago. Performance wise, typical Avira. Fast and light. Very nice. Antispam is nice, but I disabled it since I don't need it. I like the rootkit detection option. I was somewhat disappointed with the firewall. I thought there might be changes there. Looks basically the same to me. Not enough configuration options or information.

I wonder how Avira with handle this updated version when it comes to existing Avira Security Suite license holders. Will we get a free update, or will we have to pay for the extras?

there should be no charge because its been added to a suite, a suite which should have already had antispam, but... you never know.

There will be no charge to its customers who currently have the suite. The enhancements will be part of an update after the beta. Thanks Avira.:)

one thing, well many, that I like about their antispam module is their exceptions module. Obviously you can add your contacts to the exceptions list, but it allows you to exclude either spam or malware scanning for your contacts. Or both. There is a lot of flexibility in their antispam. But it will take some training for a few days. So far it has done very well though.

3 days of training the antispam in the new beta version, and not a single false one. They have all been correctly identified. This, is frigging amazing. And of course, no rootkits.;)

Bring it on next week Eset, the battle is on, and yes, I am a little concerned by what you are bringing. This is going to be fun. And next week will be, "Eset week " here. Hell, I am looking forward to it. Not like I might change my mind or something.;)

Nah, not after they offered to fly me and my family to Tettnang and meet the Auerbach family, and of course, Stefan. I will never turn my back on them. Wait a minute, dreaming again, are you trjam.

I did not mind the duplication, even though I am just a "fng" around these parts. Never can get too much of a real good thing. I appreciate the heads up, coz mine's been in the sand for a while.

Just started the beta. Not sure what to think right now. It hasn't WOWed me yet. Updates and Antispam still need some work. Guess I'm just used to the easy of KIS. It does run A LOT lighter then kis. My system seems less sluggish. If they improve the updates (don't really care about antispam) they will have a winner.
