The GUI still takes forever to open. It is ugly the new GUI and hard to read. The old GUI was so great. There is still no sound that one can hear when a virus is found...lots of little things not fixed. I see no difference between any of the builds. They work ok but the GUI is awful and I don't want to sit for ever waiting for it to load. I don't how you can say it is fast. It is not fast...the GUI is painfully slow and then when it loads it doesn't work smoothly, fast like the old GUI and it uses a lot of CPU. 7Zip support is still lacking. Luke Filewalker is still an extremely weak scanner. I see no important improvements.

I really think it's time to get your computer pimped up, if everything is that slow, there must be something with the hardware or your system is all cluttered up.

The GUI takes about 4 seconds to load for me and another few for the checkmark status icons to fully load. It certainly could be faster.

But I have NO problems with the version 7 GUI loading fast so I fail to see how the problem could be with my hardware or clutter. I have beta 8 on two virtual machines. Virtual machines are slower than the host. But the comparison I am making is from beta 8 with the ver 7 GUI and beta 8 with the new GUI on my virtual machines. The beta with the old GUI loaded just as fast as ver 7 on my host machine loads. The beta with the new GUI takes way too long to load. Plus, you can't remove the splash screen which is extremely irritating because the GUI would load faster if I didn't have to see the splash screen every time it loads. The umbrellas are pretty but I don't want to look at them every time I load the GUI.

There are still plenty of tweaks going on in relation to speed and quickness. But I am still totally pleased with what they brought to the table for us.;)

I found it slows down or does not allow some images to load- unfortunately. Have seen that before with the suite and webguard activated. I went back to Personal Edition Premium without the webguard, and images load perfectly.

    Ok, thanks.

I've found the Webguard to work nice on FF but not as much (at least for me) in IE.

Avira is getting a behavior detection engine "very soon". I take that to mean for ver.8.
