What do you expect? You'll have to remove every trace of your first license, before you can apply the new one.......and that's going to be very tough. Avira checks your excisting license information when installing.....:D

the promotional licenses don't add time to your already installed licenses they just replace them.

You'll have to remove every avira file and scan the registry for a year on the computer, and find out the offer has expired...

Yes, it was the renewal price while using the promotional key. And: you can do magic when you use the currency thing on the website. Pay with whatever is at the lowest at the moment :)

I'm sorry, but I think you are wrong about the renewal price, just check and you'll see, that it is the normal price, but they do add the remaining of the time of your promotional key to the new key, that's your benefit, so it's still a good deal.

"Any remaining time of your current license will be added to the validity periods listed below".

I'm sorry too, but you are wrong. My license runs until October 14 2010. That's 2 years and six months. And it still was a reduced price. Two years cost much more.

Sorry, you're right, I was looking at the price of just the AV and not the suite.

Frankly, at only 19,95 Euros, it's a bargain at its full price.
You've got to be a cheapskate to worry about paying that for a top flight product!

yes, but if Avira extends your purchased license with the remainder of the promotional license......you're crazy if you don't grab that!

Well.......my wallet isn't all that big, so........why not take advantage of these things? I rather see people looking for a bargain, instead of using pirated software

Is there a way where you can avoid the donation?
I would pay willingly if it were for people less fortunate then us, but not for helping cyberspace with a company I ain't heard of.

I believe it is actually Avira that makes the donation on your behalf so you can't really opt out of it. From what I know, the Auerbach foundation does help people in real life - it's not about cyberspace.
