AVG8 in XP x64 please help!

    I have a customer who has xp64 bit.
    they also have AVG8, which apparently is compatible.
    Everytime the computer starts it starts with the screen colour in 8 bit, you can change it to 32, and everything looks fine.
    But as soon as you open the avg interface, or if avg opens it the screen res changes back to 8 bit again. Any ideas?
    AVG is installed in the x86 folder tree.
