Looks like AVG purchased another company, this time for mobile security.

AVG only seems to know how to acquire but they know little how to develop.
Which also reflects a lot in the acquired software later...

Thing is that AVG is owned by some big names in investments (look at some of the shareholders). Since a lot of money gets poured into the company, it is natural that they have stock for some acquisitions. The main problem with AVG is that their team is good at "core" tech but not at feature development. So, I guess someone at the top figures that having as many divisions as possible speeds up your development and expands your reach, even if things are not exactly in sync (leading to bugs, i.e. with LinkScanner in AVG8 days, etc.). It does seem to work as the name "AVG" just seems to be getting bigger and more well-known every day......

(It's just my theory, so take it with a grain of salt) :)
