There has been some discussion about AVG free no longer to be free to users in the New Year. I took the Liberty of writing Grisoft and this is their response which I hope clears up the issue.

    Hello,
Thank you for your email. We have no intentions of discontinuing the AVG Free Edition. Please feel free to pass this information along.
    Sincerely,
    Lynn Pittman
    Director US Operations
    Grisoft Inc

Okay, the 'free' version will still be available, but what about 'support' in the form of continued free updates?

The updates are ongoing as before. I am of the opinion that if the software remains free, so will the updates continue otherwise why would anyone be bothered to use their software? If you have any doubts, email them directly as I did - that way there is no guessing as in "what if"!!!
