    I would like to know whether I may use an avatar from this forum and upload the same to another forum. Is this permitted?

    Paul or Mike will probably have to answer this one. From a legal stand point, I assume some of them if not all are copyrighted and may only be approved for exclusive use with this board.... I really do not know though so we just need to wait for either Paul or Mike to give us an answer.

    The library of available avatars are part of mod packs we picked up at various points in time, and each has specific usage guidelines. While some are stated to be unrestricted, some objects require notification of usage to be sent to their creators, and some have other rules as well. I'm not going to try to list which ones came from which packs and have which re-use rules, so just assume that they are all off limits for reposting or uploading in other places (unless you go to the avatar sources yourself and read and follow their licensing rules).

    However, there are a great many places on the web where you can get avatars that are freely available for use. I'm sure people will reply here with links for many such places.
