Avast - what detect?

    Aha, but it works perfectly all the same, doesn't it? That's what's important here. You don't like it. On the other hand, I know many people who don't mind the slightest.

    I highly doubt your claims, but I don't have Avira at hand at the moment to check, so I'll let that slide. Even then, it's a non-issue in practise, for reasons that should be obvious.

    There ARE problems with Avira's updater, but you mentioned all the wrong ones.

    Run preupd.exe with Windows scheduler as often as you like.

    I agree and that goe for paid ones as well.no one wants to hear the truth when there paying for one thats not much better then the free alternative.

    A product is only as good as the care that goes into it. I can throw 1000 dollars on the floor, but if it wasn't for desire, you wouldn't run after it :p
