I have not figured out how everything works around here - so bare with me please. :doubt:

I am new to the free AVAST program.

I am still using Win98SE -- AVAST free no longer does a boot scan for my operating system. :'(

Could someone who has been using the AVAST free program, and also has Win98, let me know if there is a way I can make my own boot list -- and have AVAST set up to scan it? o_O

Or point me in a direction of something that is a workaround!

Avast! only does a boot scan on windows 2000, NT, and XP. It NEVER did a boot scan on Windwos 98(at least in my memory).

A tip is to disable the "sounds" when a virus etc is detected. It has caused " freezin" on w98/se in the past.
