I now have 1489 as well and it seems to be working okay.

This is on my surfing notebook I also have OP FW pro.

Now I'm wondering what duplication I have created twixt these 2 products.

This Avast seems to have a firewall offered but I haven't messed with that.
It may be just a marketing message.

It is a marketing message they want me to up grade to get a FW?, Not required as I have one and I know nada about the Avast FW.

I'm going to check out the exclusions first.

Okay I've excluded Avast from OP FW Pro and OP FW from Avast.

Now I'm messing with IE 10 and Sandboxie and Avast which has a sandbox of it's own. There seem to be some glitches and I've posted my results on the Sandb0xie site. They will say upgrade to the beta 4 version.... but I will wait for that as well.

    Comment at will.

FWIW my older notebook I'm limiting now to line banking and personal email.

This may sound like a couple dumb questions but the Avast website is not real clear on the differences between the free and Pro version of the AV.
    1. a. Does the free av have the auto-sandbox?
    b. If so, can the av be set to ask user permission whether to allow any unknown download to run, even if the sandbox shows it is not malware? (essentially set all unknown to always ask the user)

    2. Is the sandbox browser feature available in the free version?

    3. Anyone running the free version alongside Voodoo Shield?

    1a) Yes
1b) Yes, but not always since sandbox does not ask you about every unknown executable.
    2) No
    3) You can use avast+VS combo. I experienced no problems so far.

    Correct me if I'm wrong....
