    Hi

Not sure if I'm posting in the correct area but if a process gets auto-sandboxed via Avast and your using SBIE or BZ Pro along side it, would this mess anything up with the process?

    thanks
    Ice

I had stability issues while running Firefox and IE sandboxed (Sandboxie) with Avast! Internet Security. Both browsers would stall and I would had to use the terminate all programs function to end the session. Opera 11 seems to work better with Sandboxie/Avast at the moment.

I pretty much start the Avast Sandbox if I want to browse with Firefox on my laptop computer. I have been told it functions just like Sandboxie. I hope in my case that is true!

I would appreciate some more info as well concerning running Sandboxie and AIS together.

Would it be better to run the free version of Avast with Sandboxie?

    That's my setup now.

I'd like to upgrade to the paid version of Avast but I don't really want to give up Sandboxie unless I'm convinced the sandbox on Avast is as good as Sandboxies.

    Thanks

Avast is just a sandbox - Sandboxie and BZ are toolchests... rich featured.

SB has some important features - BZ has its nice features.

Actually SB is under power development - bug fixing, more compatibility.
If SB fails, BZ (pro=free) can do - i dont know if avast can reach that.

there is another thread here concerning that matter...

PS i am an avast free user - there is no reason for me to upgrade,
    i dont miss anything. ► http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

I am in the same boat. I don't think that there is any review of Avast sandbox feature yet...

I'll probably do as Brummelchen mentioned.

Avast free and Sandboxie have been working great together for me.

    Why fix what isn't broken?

I would hate to even think of removing Sandboxie.

It would be like booting out an old friend. :)

forgot - i can tell you that sandboxie and avast can co-exist (win7 32/64bit)
yesterday i turn avast box off - it sux.

    /ot
i am not sure if avast produces it but i had several popups from
torchsoft malware defender from processes to this one:
    [Lokaler Host : 111 (sunrpc)] -> [0.114.0.80 : 103]
    and
    COM-Schnittstelle {472083B0-C522-11CF-8763-00608CC02F24} avast [\Avast5\ashShell.dll]

creating a rule didnt help, comes again and again - till i stopped the avast box.

    but afaik
ashShell.dll is related to the feature where via windows explorer you start scan of file/folder

so probably some issue with the ruleset

    Hey buddy!

So, that means, AVAST! Internet Security 6 and Sandboxie can co-exist?!

Cool! I've placed a msg in their forums, but didn't got any answer yet!

Really interested in acquiring a license, my current AV (NOD32) is expiring and I'm looking for a more complete solution, not just the AV!

I'm currently running NOD32 AV + Comodo Firewall + Sandboxie, and I really wish to keep Sandboxie in my setup! Right now, it's my only concearn to go or no go with AIS 6!

Saw the reviews and got some feedback from members of Wilders, and I'm really interested in going for it!

Anyway, if they can co-exist (AIS 6 and Sandboxie) I'm cool! :D

    Cheers buddy!

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional x64
Real Time: NOD32 AV + Comodo Firewall + Sandboxie (free)
On Demand: MBAM (free) + Hitman Pro + HiJackThis
