As spywar said that there is more stuff coming in near real time and it will surely come in pace with the 2 or 3 bad tests results we had in YT reviews and these technologies right now are pretty generic and Vlk said they had further ideas on how to improve it :)

nine9s,spywar is doing these tests on his own machine and not on a VM so 99% he would click close instead of continue execution...but if he doesnt then like 2 or 3 things may go bypassed

    I guess Avast software checker isn't up-to-date. :D

Indeed, they should provide faster updates, because they're a security company.

It will improve over the time. Don't expect them to be that fast. Even Flash player's own update doesn't update Flash player as soon as you see new version live. It just doesn't work like that.

With software updates, there's almost always "offline" version available some time before it goes to automatic distribution.
When you think of avast!, I'd bet you see that new version is ready but not installed. That's because avast! doesn't distribute all automatic updates instantly to all users. Why? Overload.

Specify what the "some time" means.
    It's hours, days, or weeks?

Monday, March 4, 2013 to Tuesday, March 5, 2013 it's one day ..... and counting.

Well that really depends. Can't say certain time-frame but it's mostly a few days (1-3)

If your version is newer you are ok. They will never lag so much behind to make any difference. Besides, Software Updater is meant for users who are still using Java 6, very early Java 7 builds, ancient Adobe Flash versions, ancient Adobe Reader versions etc etc. If you're poking at program versions on hourly or daily basis, Sotware Updater is not exactly a function targeted at you. But will help millions of clueless users who just have no clue they should keep the software up to date.

Before, my version was the SE 7u15.
    No, I'm not ok:

IMHO, this is a ridiculous excuse, sorry.

and tell them to correct the naming:
avast! Software Updater --> avast! [ancient] Software Updater

Due to the severity of these vulnerabilities, and the reported exploitation of CVE-2013-1493 "in the wild," Oracle strongly recommends that customers apply the updates provided by this Security Alert as soon as possible.

Have you seen update alert from Java about this? I bet no.

That's what I said. You can almost always update manually before you can grab update from automatic alert. But this is kinda offtopic...
