I was about to say this.
Their samples are hardly the best ;)
Lots of FP's and PUPS :(

Just finished the video so conclusion :

Evo-Gen did detect one (pretty sure it was a malware)
And if avast! sandbox could not find evidence for the PUP and safe files I think it's just normal no ? :D :D
I had about a dozens of malware files that were detected as Malware after dynamic execution inside the sandbox.
    ...
    MBAM - 0 threats found

Why no one ever does any tests properly? This is how a proper procedure would go:

    1. Run live links through browser
    2. Scan files on disk using on-demand scan
    3. Execute ALL remaining files
    4. Perform a full system scan (with PUP enabled in avast!'s case)
    5. Make a verification with other tools
    6. Make any sort of verdict

This way you test real world scenarios mixed with semi synthetic testing and also cleanup job.

PUP really has to be enabled in the testing for at least Full Scan because avast! classifiec most of toolbars and other non dangerous junk as PUP.

I do like to see that the guy on Malware Doctor did behave like an average user and clicked Continue execution as only that gives us the realistic protection. However since he didn't make a fulls ystem scan with PUP we can only speculate how well would avast! clean all the useless toolbars and other PUP junk...

Good Afternoon ! I installed Beta 8...everything went smoothly...except the Firewall didn't install...so I decided too uninstall...and during the process when the uninstaller came to the Sandbox component...the installer froze...so I had to initiate a System Restore...this problem with the Sandbox was originally manifest on Avast I.S.7...but the firewall not installing is a new glitch. Further more not crazy with the Windows 8 Gui Graphics...in all fairness this isn't exclusive to Avast...but other vendors as well. Hopefully someone can comment on my two problems...the Sandbox installer and Firewall issue. Sincerely...Securon

i dont like the new interface that avast proposes to use in version 8.I hate the metro look and i wish developers would give end users the choice of whether to use the metro look or not and its for this reason i will not install avast now or in the forseeable future.

I don't care about its UI only thing I want is improvements on detection/prevention isn't more important ? ...

This indeed. I don't mind the new look. I think it looks better than v7 to be honest.

    I agree

Plus, the interface doesn't ruin what avast! is capable of.

I seriously think that maware doctor had some samples which were actual malware in the pack which he didnt execute and he only played with adware

Spywar just informed me that vlk said to him in a PM this:
"Again, all of these technologies are pretty generic - and we do have further ideas on how to improve them.
I think our research team has done a fantastic job so far - and there's more to come in the next months."

    :D

I don't know why ppl have 300 samples left and they execute only the first 10. WHY!? Select all of them and hit ENTER button. How hard is that?

There is also Dyna-Gen (thats how i call it, it has no official name as of yet) which will be a similar thing to Evo-Gen, just focused on Auto Sandbox behavior detection rules. Currently virus analysts have to "handcraft" every Auto Sandbox detection rule where Dyna-Gen will be a fully automated system that will like Evo-Gen be able to process large numbers of samples and automatically generate rules for them. Not yet known when it will go online fully, but when it does i'm expecting a large jump in Auto Sandbox detections. All i can say is: Finally!
