I love this combo too,but the problem with it is that even if they're blocked in Privatefirewall, the browsers still can connect to internet.

OK I have a query on this new technology here..

If A malicious file that is downloading [example a varient of a zbot trojan] is in question for a low reputation to the user then it will be counted as user dependent.

But what in the case if this file is actually detected as evo-gen by file system shield at the same time. Here is the issue,if the download is questioned to the user as user-dependent and test labs like AV-C wouldnt care to check the same file against file shield to see if evo-gen detects it... and if evo-gen technology does detect it...it will indirectly over-ride evo-gen as evo-gen is only residing with file system shield.

So,avast team needs to apply evo-gen even for web shield :shifty:

Why is this thing not updating definitions? The connection is established, but yet again I find that it hasn't downloaded anything since yesterday afternoon. I don't even get any pop-ups about it, where 7 would pop up updates several times a day.

    Do you really have beta3? (i.e. build 8.0.1478 )
As in this build, the issue should be fixed... and other users are confirming that:

That's why Evo-Gen did not detect old samples ! It started working since beta1 was released.

About Ransomware (10th link in the test)

Avast NetworkShield blocked the URL, dont know if Avast FileShield would have blocked it or not.

Comodo AutoSandboxed the ransomware & nothing opened. When the system restarted & reached the desktop no ransomware screen was there during boot, when the system restarted again this time ransomware screen was there at boot?

On 9th link he killed cavwp.exe, Comodo AV Process?

Little confusing for me as the test is not in english so if I am missing something or not correct plzz let me know. I have also posted the test link in Comodo Forum for info & comments.

avast! is the most updated free antivirus. avast! updates up to a whopping 60-80 times a day via cloud which makes sure you are always safe against the most newest virus. You can see it yourself here http://www.av-test.org/en/statistics/updates/

Since beg of Feb, on each stream updates we receive Evo-gen fresh detections !
But for FileRepMalware it's different, they are detected by Similarity Search and added to FileRep database (i.e you need a cloud connection).

CIS is a good product but there are some issues for me (which I won't mention here) that's why I stopped using it.

Avast still did amazingly well, I would have preferred to see more Evo-gen detections on the unknown pieces of malware as well as some behavior blocking
thats a big one I have wanted to see since v7 a more responsive behavior shield. Maybe VLK could comment on if this shields detections will ever be ramped up or are they focusing mainly on FileRep/Evo-gen detections?

But overall I am still amazed with the quality of this product :)

    Virus sign samples ...
Do you know how many safe samples these packs are composed of ? ...
Why do you want to see Behavior or Evo Gen alerts on files that REALLY look safe ? Just tested it hours ago with fresh samples and like always it did a perfect job so.
