RejZoR, doesntly that kind of sound like what was talked about with AE that Avira was creating. Hmmmm

Any way, Avast 8 is a mind-blower. Avast has reached deep and created a winner. While others sit on their laurels, Avast continues to demonstrate they have no intention of competing with malware, but actually on beating it.:thumb:

Also note that avast! come in the File Reputation game 1 year ago ...
Norton since their 2010 edition I think, that's why they have a really good prevention of unknown threats with their "Norton Insight".

For me, it seems to use less ram, but I don't notice CPU time or disk i/o improvements.

I've got the newest Beta version..and now Windows Security Center doesn't see it, lol. I noticed that was mentioned somewhere on their forums so I'll have to go back and see how to remedy that. Also, it's wanting to install an ad blocker too? I can sort of see the software updater considering it's security, even though that's the poorest scan of software I've ever seen considering it only shows an extremely short list. But Avast seems to be heading in the "do it all" direction which I'm not a big fan of.

I had to uninstall it. Slows Windows 8 to a crawl. Its ok, it is beta and they will get it right.

I had Windows 8 about a month and hated it. Went back to 7 and this new beta is lighter than the previous version when using 7... noticeably. Like it!:thumb:

avast! 8 comes with another optimization where i only scans the copied file and not source and the copy when performing a copy operation. In theory this should make less overhead when for example copying images from a digital camera tot he computer or when copying stuff on the same computer.

Where did you run CCleaner (inside or outside sandbox)? Also be aware that avast! Sandbox leaves certain stuff intentionally on a host system, see sandbox exclusions for more details.
Thats mostly harmless locations, but you can turn that off as well and make it 100% virtualized.

Does Avast! still use a proxy for traffic monitored by its shields?

I ran it outside the sandbox.I ran chrome inside and the only way of leaving no traces after emptying it is to, not have trusted downloads ticked.

For me, Safezone launching speed seems faster as well. I've also reported 2 bugs that I encountered.
