I figured that. I was wondering specifically what the point is. For example. I have a three user license for Avast! Internet Security. I have one at home, gave one to my parents and the other to my brother. We are all of course, in different locations.

Would it behoove me to set up an account? What kind of functionality is present that I could "manage" remotely.

    Thanks.

Well, nowadays the functionality is to get reports and info about the installed system: license status, program version, virus definitions status and version, state of the real time shields, reports of the last scanned items, report of last infections.

Technical (or anyone that may know).

I have begun setting up this up on my workstations. However I have a paid three user license for AIS.

The thing is, all three machines are at different locations. Problem is that I am only able to see the information on all three machines, from only one of the three locations. Coincidentally the first location that I set this up at. Is this how its supposed to work? Shouldn't it be able to give me info from any location? Or am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks I just replaced MSE (low rating on AV Comparatives) with AVAST on the 64 bit Vista PC.

What i hope is that avast! Free would auto-renew the license by itself for as long as it would be conencted to the account. This way avast! team knows how many users they have and all but the "clueless" users don't have to worry about AV expiring. I mean, its free after all. It would be nice to be able to renew payable versions through the account page through.

Excellent suggestion RejZoR let's hope Avast5 listens.

    @Miyagi,
The only reason I'd change would be if avast! no longer does it's excellent job of keeping my system safe.
Auto renewal would be nice but it certainly isn't hard enough to make me look for anything else.

    I looked at:

The March 2012 report specifically at:

    1) AV Awards Advanced + products
    2) detection rate ranking
    3) Missed samples

If a AV user uses other criteria they may reach different conclusions.

But lets not turn the thread into a "my AV is better than your AV" or the moderators will close it down.

I have 3 PC's each has a different AV product so I have no loyality to a specific product.

There are some new features called Ongoing Protection that enables the automatic renewal process and without losing any license-days.

Not sure where I report AutoSandbox FPs. Today when I logged in it tried to sandbox my AMD driver and CCC. Luckily I had set it to "ask". I do have the sensitivity set to high also.

Does anyone know if setting Filesystem shield heuristics sensitivity to high affect Autosandbox?

Oh, I forgot to mention the reason it wanted to isolate them was because of few FileRep ratings.

Sorry people, I'm not sure I should let my mouth closed and do not undisclose this.
As far I know, the option will be available to renew licenses (not free registration).
I don't know how it would be implemented (GUI, etc.) or how would be the sales details.

    Keep connected ;)

Could someone tell me the answer to a couple questions about Avast Internet Security: does the sandbox require the web shield to be enabled and can the sandbox be set to have everything downloaded to it and have the user confirm they want the download out of the sandbox?

No, web shield is a separated HTTP scanning module that checks all data before it's transmitted to browser. It doesn't matter if you use virtualized or non-virtualized web browser, or what kind of webbrowser you use (IE/FF/...).

Every file downloaded from your webbrowser by standard way is saved outside the sandbox by default, otherwise it's saved in the sandbox (this setting works for the most used webbrowsers: ie/ff/opera/chrome) and it can be turned off in the Sandbox settings. You can also set up a special folder which contents will be excluded from the sandbox.
