Yes. but i thought that all it would show by default is startup, infections and hard errors. The other shields have settings where you can change this, but for the network and behavior shield I think that is all it reports. I may be wrong about this but I thought that I read this on the forum or somewhere.

who would even buy the pro version. For 3 computers it would cost me almost $120.00, that is a screw. The suite is a great deal, but the Pro version of the AV is priced all wrong. Unless this is the way they get sells for the suite.

Also I dont understand the sandbox. I add Internet explorer, 64 and 32 bit and it shows nothing. Actually the 32 bit one wont open if I add the iexplore file to it.

What do you mean? A 3-Pack of the Pro AV is $54.95.

I agree with you. The free version is plenty of protection for me. Great protection in fact

Does the free version protect against script malware?

I just installed avast! 5 and it didn't even ask for reboot. Are most AV like this now? Its nice.

Edit: and registering the free version is even easier. Just enter name and email. Look Ma, no keys!

The most customer-friendly policy (in my opinion) is the Single User/Multiple Machines policy, wherein I can buy a license and run the program on 2 or 3 computers.

Take a look at what WinPatrol's Bill Pytlovany says...

avast!'s current pricing policy (charging me per computer) actually discourages me from upgrading to the Pro version, and keeps me on the free version.

If you adopted WinPatrol's policy, I would purchase an avast! Pro license.

    Single User/Multiple Machines! :thumb:

Criminals often go through dustbins to find bank statements, etc when perpetrating identity theft, that's my guess as to this advert.

no offense my friend but that is even worse. I am paying only $5.00 bucks extra for the antispam and firewall.

The Pro version should be like $39.00 for 3 computers, then you have 2 winners. The suite and the pro version.

to everyone talking about the behavior shield, dont compare it to threatfire and mamutu, its more of a system harden, it will detect and block thru behavior things that hook deep into ur system and kernel like rootkits and such, not just normal application behavior.

I'm not convinced that $60/3pcs is such tempting "value" given that this is Avast's first release of a suite. I feel they should have kept price lower and get
new users on board. It's easy to get a 3pc licence for several of the big name
suites here (London) now for £25 (about $3:cool:.
Is the Google toolbar option offered in all versions?

I just clicked on the Update Program button on the beta, and it updated from .373 to .377. Had to do a restart.

fresh is best wen moving from a beta to a final, but even with in program update ther shuldnt be a prob.

only thing i dont like about this version, is the new license system, fine for the free version, but all this stuff with exchanging for a license file is confusing.

If you choose 3 computers for i years updates here..
http://www.avast.com/pro-antivirus ,the price is what Vic said .There seems to be a bug on the pricing page.If you go straight to the buy and download secure section and then add the 3 computer /1 year option the price is what you said trjam.

keep in mind, Avast redefined Suites with a Sandbox that is suppose to work on 64 and 32 bit. Doesnt for me, but that doesnt surprise me. If it does work like this then yes, they deserve the right to charge for exceptional software.
