The rescue disc option is greyed out in the free version. Mostly likely only available in the paid versions.

Someone on avast forums claimed the implementation of deepscreen in avast, not sure about it though:
    http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=132502.msg978740#msg978740

I think even if it has been implemented, its the dynamic translation layer and I am sure dyna-gen is also very close to be in avast as I think they are planning to release the final with both the technologies running from the way it was announced in the beta. :D

I dont know if Deepscreen is implemented & working fully or not but yesterday I tested Avast free 2014 & would like to share few things

I got Deepscreen popup for 3 samples & it didn't found anything malicious. VT result for those 3 samples were Adware, Trojan & PUP & all were detected by more than 15 scanners. I had enabled PUP in all Avast shields. Does Deepscreen detects PUP?

Previous version has Autosandbox & this new beta 2014 have replaced Autosandbox with Deepscreen. The difference I found was

Autosandbox - Use to analyze, malware detected was quarantined & when nothing was detected it use to give popup mentioning no malware evidence found with 2 option, continue & close.

Deepscreen - Analyzes & mentions will take 15 secs & I guess malware detected would be quarantined, when nothing is detected it gives popup mentioning something like "Nothing found, sorry to wait you, your program will start now" - I got this popup. Out of 3 samples, 2 i.e adware & pup ran & the 3rd sample trojan, there was no graphic thing but it was there in the taskmanager running.

In the video above, you can see Deepscreen at app. 2.45 - 2.55 mins.

Use Resource Monitor, there's a disk section for Vista+. Otherwise Process Explorer or Process Monitor (more for logging) will do.

VLK said on 16th of this month in the avast forums that it would be implemented during next week and today is exactly 1 week from the 16th release date. So,until yesterday's 180321-0 VPS there was nothing special.Dont know if it is has been activated today because so far all tests on YT are with 180321-0 VPS defination or what?!

But according to the info,it was suppose to come via a simple VPS Hmm...we will see! :)

For me,I will wait to test futher beta builts and especially the FINAL,beta1 is unreliable with the VPS updating issues all over the place LOL

Update bug is known and will be fixed with beta2 next week.
We'll see if Deepscreen will be fully activated with beta 2 as well :)

Hardened mode is working for me in the newest beta. I know that it blocks files but other than that what does it do? I've only used the aggressive option.

The pop ups are normal size for me. Hopefully they whatever glitch your having. Did you send a ticket for it? Deep scan for me pops up but hasn't caught anything yet.

I posted on the forum, if you eant to keep up eith my glitches my names Justin_22

Anyways, as for deepscreen. I believe.the "shell" of it works but i dont think they have.the "core" algorithms for dynamic detection in place yet.

Yeah I kind of figured that. I don't even think the full sigs are working or even dyna-gen. Other than those few things the newest beta is working well.

Guys,we cant assume anything.Vlk said it was supposed to be up this week and this week is almost done and plus all the test done were with 22nd VPS and now we need to test the latest VPS to know if anything is up yet or not but I am sure since 1 week is almost done,it is or will be here quickly, unless someone tests it everyday :D

I am gonna wait until beta 2 next week where these update issues are sorted and fixed until then If anyone comes up with any new discoveries on new technologies feel free to post.
