Have you ever run these AV tests with supplementary AM software running?
    I have never seen that.
We always hear how MBAM or SAS bolsters an AV, by catching what it misses.
Would it be worthwhile to even try that?
avast with MBAM compared to avast with SAS.
or just avast with and without MBAM.
    That kind of thing.
(Thanks for your testing. I've always enjoyed it.) :)

I do respect your thoughts but I think signature based protection testing doesnt mean a lot nowadays.. How about testing the AV's with spyshelter or defense plus ..Just a thought:doubt:

Always interesting to see the results of these tests however statistically relevant they may or may not be.

What's always most of interest to me isn't what's detected but how the products deal with the stuff they don't detect.

I'd like to add Avira Free and Premium to the mix.

    As I respect yours. :)
I was gonna ask him to test with Sandboxie, but that doesn't look to be part of his plan. :)

WOT rates ParetoLogic Anti-Virus webpage as poor. I wonder why it has a bad ratting? I had never heard of this antivirus until a couple months ago. I took a screen shot of WOT i was going to post, but when i went to past my screen shot to mspaint it was not there. I guess maybe prevx or something else on my system blocked my screen capture.

Unless their previous position on these "testing" posts have changed recently, I wonder how long it will take before the mods shut down this thread, as they did before .

Had I remembered that LWM locked the thread the way he did, I wouldn't have contributed. It's a good thing to respect that man's wishes.

Yeah, it's been like a year and a half and quite frankly I forgot all about it. I think I have to create a blog somewhere to post my findings that people can visit if they want. Seems to be the best course of action. I'll shut this one down then since I remember now this site wasn't a fan of these tests. Too bad, I sure enjoy discussing how these AV's deal with malware in the real world.
