AV-Test.org: August 2018 test results (Windows 10) https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/windows-10/august-2018/
My comment mirrors those posted over at malwaretips.com in regards to this test. What can you say about a test where 11/17 products are rated "tops?" Not much.
Yes I stopped looking at their tests. Look at the performance results, seems like all of them are either super light or very light. This is far from the truth. I've tested a lot of the so called light performers in their results and they were very heavy like Kaspersky Anti-Virus for example, every time I open up my software folder which contains many EXE installers and folders with custom icons, they load in slow motion, just like they do with Windows Defender. And yes I did perform a full system scan and reboot thinking that maybe KAV would whitelist them but no luck. Before anyone blames me for having a slow computer, here are my laptop specs: MSI GT75 Titan 8RG-094 | i9-8950HK | Samsung 2400 MHz 64GB RAM | GeForce GTX 1080 | Intel Wireless-AC 9260 | 17.3" FHD 120 Hz/3ms Screen | 3x 2TB Samsung 960 PRO [RAID 0] + 4TB 850 EVO + SanDisk 512GB Extreme PRO SD Card
Since I can no longer use Kaspersky 2019 Free because of issues it has with my VPN, I have to get a new, free anti-virus. I tending to Avira, but what would you guys say? Which test can I actually trust?
