Search for "To get an overview of the comparatives, we summarized them in tables. You can find them here." in the "comparatives" section.

ok the results are up everyone.

drweb just got the same result as always, even the same polymorphic.

very strange results, especially as this was 4.44 beta with the better detection, which im 100% sure it has.

dissappointed in it IBK though, i dont quite understand it.

av-test do theirs on 4.33 and it gets a better result that usual at 92%, and you test the better detection 4.44 and it the exact same as before, nothing changed?

it just doesnt make sense to me, 4.44 is much better than 4.33 as im sure firecat will say so aswell.

its just v.strange 'this result' from you lot.

based on how less they added of the samples they missed and considering that there are not as many origin detections as someone could make you think, it was at least able to keep its score, even if lot of samples were added to the test-set. Do not shoot the messenger. Also, you can't compare this test(set) with the one used by av-test.

Eset and Symantec were about the same in the last on-demand test. But just look hat how long it took Eset to add missed simples and how quickly this was done by Symantec. Nod is a good AV, but I still don't regret having switched to Symantec. Results just seem to confirm that.
Also nice to see that Symantec is even slightly better in the test than Kaspersky, I remember someone just recently wrote this could never happen!
Also Kaspersky and F-Secure are not twins anymore, so it is the new heuristic engine that is pushing Kaspersky?

yes, its the new heuristic. KAV6 would score quite equal with eScan.

Microsoft OneCare showed some pretty good improvement. Though, considering how poorly they fared last time, they all but had to. Be interesting to see if they can continue to make rapid improvement.

How were you able to determine that one vendor took longer to add missed samples than the other?

imo its very probably that they will continue to improve a lot and that they will get higher and higher scores in various tests.

page 3 of the report provides a graph showing the 'progress made since last comparative', according to this Symantec added their missed samples quicker than Eset did.

Is this so surprising reading all the posts here the last few months. Norton has stepped up their malware detection. I commend IBK for what I feel an accurate test. I use to feel that Eset had him in their back pocket. I was wrong.

Also Bitdefender is starting their climb.

i am no longer sure bout this test, i fail to believe that a 12month+ technology adds exactly ZERO detection rate to the previous product.

how can you say 0 detection rate by the new engine? its like saying product x is now able to detect 500000 more malware but has not improved at all.
