I believe that Gator is some type of spyware/trojan which is installed with Audiogalaxy?
AG's site is down now; is there any point in keeping AG software on the PC?

    Do you use it?
    If not, why keep it?

found this on the UTC board:

"Evolution v1.3 is now available. Evolution is a p2p client similar to AudioGalaxy. Evolution contains no spyware and claims to have fast downloads. It looks to have a promising future."

    http://evolutionp2p.cjb.net/

obviously it needs users, why not start a new home there? =)

It's on my bro's PC. Thing is the mp3s he'd downloaded might be in a AG folder so uninstalling it may wipe them? Is Gator easy to uninstall too?

    Yes, it is.
Presuming he downloaded this not too long ago. It should be listed in your Config screen > Add/Remove Software. Remove it there first.
If your brother runs a PC with a Windows version that runs msconfig, next thing to do is Start > Run > msconfig > OK
Uncheck CMEsys, then restart your computer.
The next thing I would advise you to do is go to our downloads section and grab a copy of either Adaware or Spybot S&D. Update them before you scan your computer.
If you find more then expected or are unsure what to remove and what not, please post back.

    Hope this helps,

    Pieter

as for the mp3z. just move them to a different directory if you are worried, then do the uninstall.
