What is the difference between the free and paid versions of Sana Security's Attack Shield WS(Worm Suppression)? Does AS detect and prevent the installation of root kits? Any thoughts, comments or opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Attack Shield only costs if you are running it on multiple computers, ie in a business environment. It's free to home users on a single computer. As for what it does, I'll quote myself from a previous thread..
