Are there any reliable Free Disk Imaging Software?

    I agree with 99% of what has been said on this thread. However, I do not necessarily agree with the inferences that free software is inherently of lesser quality than non-free software. For example, AntiVir-PE is free. It is also equal or superior to several NON-free antivirus programs.

    The ONLY *scientific way* for anyone to answer the question which is this thread's subject, is actually to test the free imaging programs. I vaguely recall reading good reports about Runtime's DriveImage XML. Can't remember where -- maybe it was in another life.:blink:

    I hope that someone has the curiosity to test one or more of these. Not me -- I'll stay behind and guard the castle (they also serve who only stand & wait).:gack:

    Runtime Software is in the business of making $. Since this program is currently distributed as freeware, you're using your HDD as a test bed for their BETA program. I have no doubt that this software is NOT ready for primetime!

    Time to move on to another application.

    Might be a silly question. I think no wireless mouse will work while u boot from CD. Am I right?
