Hello new user, if this is wrong section please move it.

Basically haven't updated to new versions of the following programs in 1-2 years probably and I want to know if the new versions are still solid in the security/privacy area.

    firefox still on ver 3
    sandboxie still on ver 3
    winpatrol
    ccleaner

I'm also on ver 4 with comodo firewall curious if ver 5 takes lot more resources then 4. Thanks for helping me :)

You are better off to update them. There is always a chance an exploit could get around older versions of software.

I find Winpatrol weak. I onced installed a software which was bundled with something else and told Winpatrol not to allow it, but it still got installed.

you can't basically tell winpatrol not to allow the installation of a software bundled w/ another one. it's more of an alerter sw, rather than a blocker sw.
    and it's great.
    cheers to bill p. :thumb:
