Yes I know that Intel was probably not being completely fair. But anyway, I have read that certain people complained that after installing the latest security patches for the macOS, their new M1 MacBooks became very slow. Did you also encounter any problems so far?
Which looks especially ridiculous in hindsight for Intel when the vendor of one of the applications they benchmarked directly contradicts Intel's findings once they finally complete their Apple Silicon native port and are no longer running under the un-optimized Rosetta 2 translation... Adobe Photoshop ships on Macs with Apple Silicon: Gains speedier selections, filters and performance boosts March 10, 2021 https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2...filters-and-performance-boosts.html#gs.vp4jtw Yes, I know that mood previously posted that Adobe completed their Photoshop port to Apple Silicon (via a link to AppleInsider); however, I thought that linking to the Adobe blog post made by Photoshop Product Manager Pam Clark was a little more descriptive and official. [EDIT: Just went back a page, and oops... mood did link to the Adobe blog post also. Oh well. ]
BTW, did you guys see this? Intel is in full attack mode and they do make good points LOL. And wait a minute, they even used the same actor that was used by Apple many years ago! I have to say, Apple MacBooks look very smooth but it's hard to resist powerful Win 10 laptops that are way cheaper. Just the other day I saw this model from Acer, it's being sold for only 800 euro! I wonder how much you would have to pay for a MacBook to get these type of specs. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/performance/gopc.html https://www.acer.com/ac/nl/NL/content/model/NX.A5UEH.006
And here is another crazy deal from Amazon, this Lenovo IdeaPad 5 for only 619 euro is pretty hard to resist. You probably need to pay at least 3 times as much to get a Macbook with the same type of specs. I'm sorry, but I don't believe that the M1 CPU and macOS is worth about 1200 euro. But I did read that the M1 chip as an integrated GPU that performs better than the Nvidia GeForce MX350, so that's pretty good. But most popular video games don't run on Macs of course. https://www.amazon.nl/Lenovo-IdeaPad-81YH00MVMH-i5-1035G1-Platinum/dp/B08DKWS61R

BTW, what do you guys think of this, is it true that apps load quicker on Windows? Or perhaps they tested with apps that aren't modified for the M1 yet, but wasn't Rosetta supposed to be fast regardless of this? https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/performance/gopc/evo-vs-m1-based-macbook.html
