Earlier this year, Apple killed off iTunes on macOS, breaking it up into three different apps: Podcasts, Music, and Apple TV. At the time, the company also said that iTunes for Windows is here to stay, but that might be changing. A job listing on LinkedIn looking for a senior software engineer says, "Join us and build the next generation of media apps for Windows."

Later in the description, it also says, "If you love music and you are passionate about writing code, and want to work with world-class engineering teams that ship to millions of users, the Media Apps team is the place for you."

Being that the job listing on LinkedIn is calling for UWP experience, it could be that Apple wants to make its way onto Xbox One consoles. Of course, the benefit of UWP is being able to show up on different Windows 10 platforms, so publishing an Xbox app and then pushing it to PCs is a simple task.

This is cool, but it should't be be based on UWP. Just make it a Win32 app so that it can also run on Win 7 and 8. But I guess then we will probably end up with another bloated iTunes, because Apple has a lack of talented developers, what a mess.
