Apple iOS 11.4.1 officially adds USB Restricted Mode, blocking hacking tools

    Just updated to this. Remember, you have to leave the toggle disabled, to enable USB restricted mode.

    This is just more fake security. They know most people use their device more than once an hour and that it only takes a few seconds to plug in a usb data extraction device.
    This should be a user configurable option, does anyone believe Apple techs don't know this?
    Many users never use usb devices they should be able to turn usb off altogether in the phone settings.
    Users should have the following 3 options.
    • Lockout USB
    • Lockout USB and prompt for password when USB device is detected.
    • Lockout USB n minutes after lock screen engages (time length entered by user from 0 minute - 1000 minutes.)

    There really needs to be a better way to securely quick-boot phones. I mean, why leave your phone on when you're not using it? And unless you're expecting an urgent call, or are on call for work or whatever, leaving your phone on is just too distracting.
