I have found that the latest version makes my PC quite sluggish. Apps take much longer to open and clicking on This PC has a significant delay in showing folders and drives. It reminds me of issues I have experienced in the past with bloated anti-virus apps. I uninstalled it and things went back to normal - reinstalling brought the problems back. Reverting back to the previous version has eliminated the slow down. My custom settings appear to have been restored. I think there may be some issue with the explorer.exe as Cutting noted. I sent an email to support, so I'll see if I get a response. BTW - I noticed that the price is back up to $89.95.
Explorer does seem slower now. When pasting files/folders they take some time to appear and navigating folders with lots of large thumbnails seems especially slow.
There was definitely a noticeable drag on my system. AG support replied to my email with the following: "At this time AppGuard developers are investigating this reported issue. In the interim please uninstall the updated version and reinstall the previous version. A link is provided below for the installer to use. After your reinstall and activate you will want to disable the automatic update check. Simply uncheck the box next to “Periodically Check for AppGuard Updates”. (The link was for version 6.2.9.1113) I'll post any updates that I receive.
It's been over a week since the initial (and only) reply from AG support. In the interim, I installed the latest version on another machine to see if there was any difference. Unfortunately, the additional drag is still quite apparent when launching apps and navigating through folders. This issue goes away if I lower protection to allow installs or off, and it returns when I revert to protected or lockdown. Maybe this would be less apparent with faster systems. I experimented with some of the newer settings in this version, but I couldn't identify what might be causing the drag. There is no sign of a changelog, but going to help in the app does lead to a user-guide of sorts that provides some information about the newer features.
I just received the following from AG support, and so far it seems to have removed the drag I was experiencing with the previous version: Please open AppGuard and go to the Advanced tab. Then click on “Check for Updates”. AppGuard should prompt you to install the 6.7.41.1 update. After the update completes please reboot your computer.
I just reported the AppGuard bug affecting Tor Browser. Sorry it took so long guys! I have been very busy with work, school, and repairs on my home. I also reported the fact that I had to disable Tamper Guard to uninstall the latest version of AG. I never had to do that before, but that could be expected behavior with the latest version. I think it probably is.
Anyone else getting 1,000's of events that are not showing in Activity Report? The 'stopped Suspicious Activities' number just goes up. One day and it reaches 4,000, especially when I use Edge. Also, the date does not update unless I restart. Previous versions of AppGuard never reached 100 events. See, I open Edge and it jumps from 100 to 500 events, but only shows 3 Edge events. Uninstalled with same results. Version 6.2.9.1113 does not do this...works just fine. Will just use this version for now. 20H2 Thanks, Robert
I emailed support for a changelog for 6.7 and 6.7.41.1 about six weeks ago. Still no reply.. I get that they mainly serve corporate clients, but now that the price for home users is so high, one would expect better support, especially for such a basic question.
Recenty it happens quite often that the AppGuard tray icon does not appear after booting. Anyone experiencing the same issue?
The program works ? Once I had this issue, but AppGuard didn't work, and the reason was that I had a blcakout and the date was out.
Yes. Over the years I had a few time that the service wasn't running at all, so clicking on the shortcut gave an error. But now when I don't have the tray icon it still blocks userspace launches, and when I click on the shortcut, the tray icon starts without errors.
Now it happens every boot, have to start it manually every time. BIOS clock is correct, may be is related to lack of networking during boot because of VPN network lock. Does anyone know of a working discount for AG?
Thank you! Strange are all the different pricing on their own sites. On appguard.us I get €101.95(including VAT), on appguardsolo.com it states a discount and I get €79.99(it says 0 VAT so not sure if that gets added later) and that has a 30 day free trail period first, and on your Blueridge link I get €45.95(including VAT).
Yes, very strange is probabaly the nice way of describing it....$39,95 versus $89,95 for the same product! $89,95 is outrageous btw
Okay, so I got a new license, but can't enter the information anywhere. I didn't want to reinstall unless I have to, so I thought I'd let the old one expire entirely and maybe I got a expiry dialog where I can enter my new license. My old one has expired, but AppGuard is still working fine, About window says it's still a licensed copy
