    Hello, I have a question. :D.
I have System Explorer installed, and I am getting this message.

    11/19/12 16:05:02 Prevented <System Explorer Service> from reading memory of <Firefox>.

    11/19/12 16:08:23 Prevented <System Explorer Service> from writing to memory of <Firefox>.

If i don't allow it, then System Explorer can't see the modules loaded in FireFox, my question is, is it safe to add System Explorer Service to MemoryGuard exception?

EDIT: I also recently reformat my laptop. After installing AppGuard, I noticed that msiexec.exe is being started at start-up and after a while it is gone. Is it normal? (Only starts to happen after I installed AppGuard.) Thanks. :D

I searched the thread about msiexec.exe, and I guess it's normal.

Sorry, I actually started to respond to you and then my PC rebooted (pesky windows updates!).

Anyway you should receive an email shortly.

If you trust System Explorer, then go ahead and add it as a MemoryGuard exception. I would recommend that you add it as a MG Read exception though.

Regarding msiexec.exe: When AppGuard starts up it uses a Microsoft Installer API in order to determine the AppGuard version. This is what is causing msiexec.exe to start up. AppGuard then compares this version with a version number that it looks up on Blue Ridge’s web site to determine if AppGuard needs to be updated.

    Minor bug I noticed.
    Set AppGuard to Locked Down.
Turn of icon blinking of blocked launches.
Try to launch a .msi file. Icon still blinks. (Icon does not blink if I launch a .exe file.)

A sad sad day. My trial has finished. Seeing as v4 is 'around the corner' I have to go 'cold turkey' until the new release. I'm missing those 'pink tickets' already.

How many 'sleeps' until the beta is ready for testing trials?

This is a question to all of you who are running AppGuard together with Webroot Secureanywhere Internet Security plus. When I am running AG with Roboscan alone, I am getting all kinds of blocks of writing to the memory of Firefox or to the container of FF. When I am including WSA into the mix all these blocking messages are gone completely. My worry is that AG is being interfered with by WSA to the point of reduced effectiveness. Can anyone shed any light on this phenomenon and reassure me that AG can still do its job under these conditions. AG is still blocking installations of programs when set High eg. I am running this setup on a netbook with XP Home.

    Thanks JDS

    Good grief. Public embarrassment.

But firstly, many thanks to the member who helped me out with one of his extra keys until V4 arrives.

    Now to the humiliation part.

I uninstalled AG after the trial thinking 'that's it until v4'. But now I can re-install. Wooooooooooo. However AG & Sandboxie are arguing. Pegr & chris & co told me what to stick where in AG customizer. i've been up & down this thread & cannot spot the posts.

How do I tell AG to be nice to SB (again)?

Hi all. This is a question about my combo of Sandboxie & Appguard which between them I feel are enough protection for me (so far).

This question is about what Appguard & Sandboxie (& DefenseWall for that matter) say about Anti virus. They all cover themselves by saying one should also have an AV.

So..... give me your opinions - can I use the AV as on-demand manual scans or does the AV need to be 'active real-time mode'?? I want to go lite, so is there a ginormous vulnerability in running as 'on-demand' rather than 'real-time' AV?

Appguard and sandboxie are pretty tight. You really don't need a real time AV. Anything that gets by sandboxie (unlikely if configured properly) will get stopped by appguard. You can get by with just an on-demand like hitman pro or MBAM.
