    Hi Aladdin,

I will check this out, thanks.

To answer your other question posted in the Deep Freeze thread, my OS is x86 as per my signature.

On a slightly different topic, there has been a lot of discussion regarding AppGuard and Sandboxie compatibility. Whilst I don't use Sandboxie that often (it doesn't run well on my system), I decided to experiment to see what AppGuard exclusions I would need to make to use all of Sandboxie's features. I run AppGuard at the High protection level and the sandbox folder is located on an additional, non-system partition.

I was surprised to find that on my system, I didn't need any extra settings within AppGuard in relation to Sandboxie executables in order to use the entire feature set of Sandboxie, including forced applications. This shows just how different one system can be from another - different OS versions, different hardware and software configurations, etc - in terms of how applications behave and interact. I remember from when MemoryGuard was first added to AppGuard that the technical implementation of AppGuard on Windows XP is very different to the implementation on Windows 7. I wonder if this partially accounts for the difference.

Just to check that AppGuard is working correctly, I temporarily moved the Sandbox folder back to it's default location in system-space and then the blocking messages started. After adding the sandbox folder to the Guarded Apps exception list with Read/Write access, I was again able to use the entire feature set of Sandboxie without any extra settings within AppGuard.

I do wonder whether the uninstall of AppGuard that you did using Total Uninstall could have been partly responsible for the problems you are now having with AppGuard. I have seen similar issues on my own system in the past with things not quite working as they should do after Total Uninstall had been used to uninstall something. I used to use and recommend Total Uninstall but I finally abandoned it after a monitored uninstall broke a friend's system, leaving it unbootable. Fortunately he had taken my advice and was using imaging software so was able to restore his system to a working state. You might be interested in a discussion that took place regarding the use of third-party uninstallers in the following thread: -

    Kind regards

The reason I asked, all my OSs are x64, and I cannot add anything to the PowerApps from the Programs Files (x86) directory. Seems to be another bug in Appguard, can anyone with OS x64 confirm this?

I figured as such, please check out my earlier post #1232 above to Babara Cline.

No way, Total Uninstall is responsible for this, as it came real late in the game, it is Appguard which is full of bugs. By mistake instead of disabling MBR Guard so that I can update the "System Rating", I disabled the Memory Gaurd and then I couldn't enable it. And, my saga started by uninstalling through the Add/Remove and it didn't work. Please see my above post #1235 to Barbara Cline again.

    Best regards,

No, I am having no problem adding x86 programs to the powerapps, not that I want to. :D I have windows 7 x64
It's possible these problems are unique to your machine.
If you right click on the tray icon, and choose help, there is a lot of material to get your teeth into.
Why are you adding programs to the powerapps ?

When I add something from x86 to PowerApps, it doesn't add the programs, instead it adds the desktop. I am trying to add TechSmith SnagIt. See the attached image, it has now added the desktop.

The only sluggish program I have is TechSmith SnagIt and therefore I am trying to add it to the PowerApps.

Many thanks for the image. So there is something in my computer Appguard is conflicting with. Only think I can think of is MBR Wizard. I will uninstall it and see what happens.

Yep, the Enterprise version has all the goods in it, doesn't it? :D At least the ones I mentioned, should become part of the Consumer version (I still haven't looked through all the differences, so I'm not sure if the ones I mentioned are the only ones missing in the Consumer version.). :)

I have found out that AppGuard and Zemana AntiLogger are incompatible after submitting my crash logs to Blue Ridge Networks,Inc.

Now I have the problem of trying to uninstall Zemana.

However, from the following screenshots, it can be seen that AppGuard is preventing the uninstall. Catch 22. o_O :(

I had similiar problem with Appgurad not allowing to run and/or uninstall anything. Can you try to uninstall something else.

BTW, I also have Zemana Antilogger on my system too.

    Hi aladdin,

After I got the bad news from Appguard support, I went googling and found an earlier Wilders thread here. See posts #8 and #14

I wish I had know about this incompatibility earlier, and not fallen prey to this kind of rigmarole. Most annoying , when one has to find out the hard way. :thumbd:

I am new to this program too. :D
I would open the program , the suspension time out limit is set to 10 mins, you may want to change this to longer.
Right click on the system tray icon , protection level > off. The mbr guard stays on,uninstall your anti keylogger, the re-enable appguard to high

It is 1 am here...so, I think I will try again later to day to uninstall. Besides I am in another one of my snapshots that doesn't have AppGuard installed, thanks to FD_ISR.

Also, I have created a duplicate snapshot in which AppGuard is installed, so I can experiment in fixing the problem. ;)

I tried that, from 10 to 30 minutes, but it didn't take, for whatever reason.

No matter, I will get AppGuard removed. After all I have paid Zemana for another 2 years to run their software. Thanks, for your advice. :)

I have uninstalled AppGuard via Add/Remove programs.

After the reboot I had to tidy up, removing remnants.

The question I am asking myself is, in terms of MBR protection, whether as I have WSA installed (which protects the MBR) do I also need AppGuard. And which of the apps is better at MBR protection (given that nothing is full proof and if they want to get in they eventually will, etc.)?

There is a way around this, but it is rather involved. Email AppGuard@BlueRidgeNetworks.com and we can work with you on this.

That is what the Enterprise version does.

I spoke to one of the developers about this and he does not foresee a conflict.
